Teen brutally murdered in Rupandehi
The victim had suffered severe head injuries, and the nature of the scene indicates that the murder was premeditated.
KATHMANDU: The body of a 17-year-old boy, Ishan Sharma Paudel, was found in a local drainage canal in Rupandehi, Kanchan Municipality, Ward No. 3, Dhaulagiri Chowk, on Thursday evening.
Ishan had gone missing since Wednesday night around 8 PM. During the search, his body was discovered near his home at around 6 PM on Thursday, according to the District Police Office, Rupandehi.
The victim had suffered severe head injuries, and the nature of the scene indicates that the murder was premeditated.
Superintendent of Police Pradeep K.C., head of the District Police Office, confirmed the incident and said that efforts to apprehend the perpetrators are underway.
“The body was found brutally killed with blows to the head. We have cordoned off the area and launched a detailed investigation,” SP K.C. stated. “We are questioning locals and studying technical evidence to identify those involved.”
Ishan was the only child of Arjun and Rama Sharma Paudel and was a Grade 11 student at Buddha Deep Boarding School.
The Rudrapur Police team completed legal procedures at the scene and sent the body to Butwal for post-mortem.
Considering the seriousness of the case, the police have deployed trained dogs and expert teams to advance the investigation.
