Teacher dies in bus-motorcycle accident
He succumbed to his injuries at Koshi Zonal Hospital.
KATHMANDU: A 51-year-old man was killed after a passenger bus collided with his motorcycle near Salakpur Bazaar in Sundarharaicha–8, Morang, on Wednesday.
According to Police Inspector Rajiv Giri of the Area Police Office, Belbari, the accident occurred when a passenger bus (registration number Ba. Pra-03-001 Kha 1602) traveling from east to west hit a motorcycle (Ko 31 Pa 5390) heading in the same direction.
The motorcyclist died on the spot.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcycle first slipped and fell on the road, after which the bus coming from behind ran into it.
The deceased has been identified as Kamal Koirala, a resident of Itahari–8.
He was a teacher at Kaseni Secondary School in Belbari–4, Morang, and had been living in Itahari for the past few years.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
