KATHMANDU: A two-day first aid training program targeting photojournalists working in the field of news collection and reporting has been successfully conducted for the first time in Nepal.

Organized by the Editors’ Society Nepal, the training was held on Jestha 23 and 24 at the Govinda Biyogi Journalism Study Center in Tuirechaur, Shivapuri–7.

The program was designed to enhance the safety and emergency health response skills of photojournalists, who often operate in risky and challenging field environments.

According to the organizers, the initiative aims to prepare media professionals to better handle potential injuries and health emergencies while on duty.

During the training, participants received practical knowledge on basic emergency care and first aid techniques for managing possible workplace injuries and sudden health issues.

A total of 10 photojournalists from various media organizations participated in the program.
