Sudhan Gurung set to return as Home Minister
Gurung had previously resigned from the post following controversies related to his property details and other allegations.
KATHMANDU: Sudhan Gurung is set to be reappointed as Home Minister in the government led by Balendra Shah, with his oath-taking scheduled for today.
Gurung had previously resigned from the post following controversies related to his property details and other allegations.
After his resignation, the government formed an investigation committee to look into the accusations against him.
According to official sources, the committee has cleared Gurung of all allegations, issuing him a clean chit.
Following this, the government has decided to reinstate him as the Home Minister.
Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office stated that necessary correspondence for the oath ceremony has already been sent to the Office of the President, with the swearing-in scheduled for 3 PM today.
After taking the oath, Gurung is expected to immediately resume his responsibilities at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
