Stock market extends losses as NEPSE falls again

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend today, with the benchmark index dropping by 6.31 points to close at 2,705.45.

The Sensitive Index, which tracks blue-chip companies, also declined by 1.48 points, settling at 464.64.

Out of the traded companies, 80 saw gains while 177 recorded losses, and 15 remained unchanged.

A total of 35.5 million shares from 355 companies were traded, amounting to a turnover of Rs 4.04 billion.

By turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company led the market, followed by Siddhartha Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Rawa Energy Development, and Bungul Hydropower.

On the gainers’ list were Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Apollo Hydropower, Dolti Power Company, Bungul Hydropower, and Mechyang Hydropower. Meanwhile, Syapatri Hydropower, Unik Nepal Laghubitta, NIMB Debenture, Kalinchowk Hydropower, and Reliance Spinning Mills were among the major losers.
