NEPSE falls 12.26 points despite Rs 4.41 billion turnover
Out of the companies traded during the session, share prices of 73 companies advanced, while 188 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 12.26 points on Monday, closing at 2,711.76 amid mixed market performance.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the sensitive index, which measures the performance of large-cap companies, also slipped by 0.96 points to settle at 466.13.
Out of the companies traded during the session, share prices of 73 companies advanced, while 188 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
A total of 107.39 million shares of 350 listed companies were traded through various transactions worth Rs 4.41 billion.
In terms of turnover, Aankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company emerged as the most actively traded stock, followed by NBBL Debenture, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, SY Panel Nepal, and Reliance Spinning Mills, which secured spots among the top five traded securities.
Among the biggest gainers of the day were Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Apollo Hydropower, Sayapatri Hydropower, SY Panel Nepal, and Dolti Power Company.
On the losing side, investors in Green Development Bank, Rawa Energy Development, Central Finance, Nepal Reinsurance Company, and Nepal Finance recorded the highest losses.
Despite robust trading activity exceeding Rs 4.41 billion, the broader market ended in negative territory as declining stocks significantly outnumbered gainers.
