Singer Sameer Shrestha makes acting debut in ‘Ramita Ko Pirati’

KATHMANDU: Popular among the youth for his singing and music, Sameer Shrestha has embarked on his acting journey.

Known for appearing in his own music videos, Shrestha will make his acting debut through the film Ramita Ko Pirati.

The singer revealed that his interest in acting motivated him to step into the field. “I had planned to act for some time, but I couldn’t find the right script or timing. When I received the offer, I liked the team and the storyline. Everything felt right, so I decided to begin my acting journey,” Shrestha said.

Despite becoming an actor, Shrestha emphasized that he will continue his musical career. “Singing has given me my identity, so I have no intention of leaving it. While I will be active in acting, singing remains my primary profession. I hope people will appreciate my acting just as they do my singing,” he added.

Directed by Sudipta, the film features Sameer Shrestha alongside Ana Sharma, Dhiraj Magar, Binay Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Renu Yogit, Giyana, Thinle Lamo, and other actors.

Sudipta has also written the film’s script, while Shishir Bishankhe handled cinematography, Sunil Siwakoti did the editing, and Kritika Baral directed the dance sequences.

Distributor Karan Shrestha stated that the film, with its unique theme and presentation, is expected to attract young audiences.

“Featuring new faces, this film could offer something fresh for the youth. We believe its storyline and presentation will especially draw younger viewers to theaters,” he said.

The film is scheduled for release on Magh 23.
