Singer Khem Senchuri recovering, kidney stone detected
He was preparing to embark on a month-long musical tour to Canada when he fell ill.
KATHMANDU: Renowned Nepali folk singer Khem Senchuri was hospitalized on Thursday after experiencing a sudden health issue at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
He was preparing to embark on a month-long musical tour to Canada when he fell ill.
According to Shambhu Kunwar, a close associate of the singer, Senchuri began experiencing severe abdominal pain while waiting in the airport’s departure lounge.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Sinamangal for treatment.
“His condition has now improved. Tests revealed the presence of a kidney stone. Fortunately, surgery is not immediately required, and he is likely to be discharged today,” Kunwar informed.
Initially, doctors had considered surgical intervention, but it appears that medication will be sufficient for his recovery.
Due to this unexpected health issue, Sencuhri’s scheduled musical events in Canada, Israel, and Australia have been affected.
New dates for the shows will be decided only after his health fully stabilizes.
