Sharif University hit in US–Israeli airstrikes: Iran calls it war crime
Officials stated that the damage has severely impacted key academic and research facilities.
KATHMANDU: Tehran’s prestigious Sharif University of Technology has reportedly been heavily damaged following joint U.S.–Israeli airstrikes, according to Iranian authorities.
Iran condemned the attacks, accusing the United States and Israel of deliberately targeting civilian and scientific infrastructure, and described the strikes as a clear violation of international law and a potential war crime.
The air raids are said to have caused significant destruction to the university’s information technology center, as well as a nearby gas substation located close to a campus mosque.
Officials stated that the damage has severely impacted key academic and research facilities.
Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology further claimed that since the end of February, more than 30 Iranian universities have come under direct attack amid the ongoing escalation.
