SCT launches ‘MyCard’ personalized debit card service
The service has initially been introduced through ICFC Finance Limited.
KATHMANDU: Smart Choice Technologies Limited (SCT), a licensed payment system operator approved by Nepal Rastra Bank, has officially launched its personalized card service branded as ‘MyCard’.
Under this service, customers of banks and financial institutions affiliated with the SCT network can now issue SCT–UnionPay debit cards featuring a photo of their choice, allowing for a more customized and personal banking experience.
The service has initially been introduced through ICFC Finance Limited.
According to the company, it has been developed with the flexibility to expand to VISA and NepalPay schemes in the future, depending on the interest of partner banks.
Banks and financial institutions outside the SCT network will also be able to use the ‘MyCard’ platform to offer personalized card services to their customers.
Currently, SCT issues SCT–UnionPay cards through 23 banks and financial institutions and over 100 cooperative institutions across Nepal.
Through its proprietary ‘Smart Switch’ infrastructure, the company facilitates the issuance of SCT–UnionPay and Visa cards, while also enabling acceptance of Visa, RuPay, Mastercard, and Discover cards for transactions.
With over two decades of experience, SCT is Nepal’s first domestic card scheme, providing secure, simple, and reliable payment services nationwide.
Beyond card services, SCT also offers Smart QR, Smart Pay–IBFT (interbank fund transfer), mobile banking solutions, and other digital payment services to various banks.
The launch of ‘MyCard’ is expected to offer customers more personalized and visually appealing card options while further promoting digital payments in Nepal.
