RSP Convention: Large-scale food arrangements
Breakfast distribution began at 7 AM at the venue, with full-day catering services planned for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.
KATHMANDU: The first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is underway in Chitwan.
The closed session of the first general convention, which began yesterday, is starting today.
The convention is taking place at the Chitwan Industry Association Exhibition Center, where around 4,100 delegates from across the country, including district, diaspora, and various organizational committees, are participating.
While delegates have arranged their own accommodation in hotels, the party has taken responsibility for meals and hospitality starting this morning.
Breakfast distribution began at 7 AM at the venue, with full-day catering services planned for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.
Organizers said delegates are being served breakfast including rice and goat meat.
The scale of preparation is significant, with an estimated requirement of nearly 8 quintals of goat meat daily for morning meals alone.
Evening meals will feature mixed vegetarian dishes.
The three-day catering contract has been awarded to Diyalo Foodland of Kshetrapur, Narayangarh.
According to Managing Director Ramesh Adhikari, at least 10 varieties of dishes are included in both morning and evening meals.
Special arrangements have also been made for non-meat eaters, offering paneer, mushrooms, and seasonal vegetable options.
Meals are being served on-site with live cooking arrangements, marking what organizers claim is the first such large-scale setup in Chitwan.
Around 200 staff members have been deployed for food preparation and distribution, with strict food safety measures in place due to the ongoing heat.
Delegates have been provided meal coupons, while each participant has contributed a convention fee of Rs 5,000.
However, accommodation expenses are being borne individually by the delegates.
