Rs 2 billion five-star hotel to be built in Janakpurdham

KATHMANDU: A five-star hotel is set to be built in Janakpurdham with an investment of nearly Rs 2 billion, marking a major milestone for tourism infrastructure in the Madhesh Province.

The project, undertaken by Mithila Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., will be Janakpur’s first-ever five-star hotel.

The foundation stone was jointly laid on Monday by Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav and Member of Parliament Manish Jha.

According to Mithila Hospitality Chairman Rameshwar Sah, the hotel will be constructed on 2.5 bighas of land in Laxminiya Rural Municipality–1, near Bhat Bhateni Supermarket.

The facility will feature 124 well-equipped rooms and is expected to be completed within three years.

Sah stated that the investment aims to develop Janakpur as a major tourism hub, highlighting its cultural and religious significance.

The initiative also aligns with earlier calls to promote Janakpur as a destination for tourism and weddings.

During the ceremony, MP Jha assured investors of a secure and supportive environment, emphasizing that Madhesh Province has become increasingly investment-friendly.

He added that no obstacles would be allowed to hinder investment projects moving forward.
