MetLife Nepal supports Kaski Public Schools through football & education initiative

KATHMANDU: As football brings communities together around the world, MetLife Nepal has launched a new initiative to support sports and education in public schools across Kaski District.
Through the initiative, “Empowering the Next Generation Through Education and Sports,” MetLife Nepal has begun distributing football kits to five schools in Kaski, supporting children in both urban and rural communities.
The program is being implemented in partnership with Karmayog Foundation, working to expand access to sports and education for underserved youth.
The initiative will provide around 160 footballs, along with essential training equipment such as cones, goalpost nets, air pumps, and basic operational materials. Selected students will also receive jerseys, helping schools strengthen organized play and rebuild a culture of regular sports participation within public education.
The initiative forms part of MetLife Nepal’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility focusing on education.
By anchoring the program within schools, MetLife and Karmayog Foundation aim to help create environments where children can develop holistically, learning not only from classrooms, but also from the values that sport naturally instils like teamwork, fairness, perseverance, and mutual respect.
Speaking about the initiative Mr. Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal said, “Sport has a unique power to bring children together, especially in public schools where opportunities are often limited.
As interest in football continues to grow around the world, we wanted to use this moment to support schools where football can inspire resilience, a love for learning, and confidence in their future.”
