RPP to announce all candidates today, eyes election as part of movement
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, Lingden said the country is now moving decisively toward elections and that RPP is fully prepared to participate.
KATHMANDU: Rajendra Lingden, chair of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), announced on Monday that the party will finalize and release the list of candidates for all electoral constituencies today.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, Lingden said the country is now moving decisively toward elections and that RPP is fully prepared to participate.
He emphasized that the upcoming election would not only be an opportunity for leadership change but should also be used to push for systemic transformation.
“The nation has now firmly entered the electoral phase. In this context, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has decided to finalize and publicly announce its complete list of candidates today. As a democratic party, we are not only participating in the elections but also using them as an integral part of our movement. We are fully prepared for the elections,” Lingden said.
He further claimed that RPP alone represents the leadership of the country’s nationalist forces, embracing the monarchy, the traditional Hindu state, and nationalist ideals.
The program also marked the entry of several prominent figures into RPP, including journalist Gajendra Budhathoki and legal professional Bhadraprasad Nepal.
Budhathoki will appear on the party’s proportional representation list, while Nepal has been fielded as a candidate from Jhapa-2.
