Representative of RSP candidate dies during vote counting

KATHMANDU: In Morang’s Constituency No. 2, a representative of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate has passed away amid ongoing vote counting.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kovid Katuwal of Morang District Police Office, Durga Regmi, a district party member and representative of RSP candidate Krishna Karki, died suddenly.

Police said Regmi collapsed while stepping out of the counting center to eat and was pronounced dead at the spot.

Preliminary reports suggest that the death may have been caused by a heart attack.

Authorities have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
