Renowned sculptor Tuladhar passes away at 91

KATHMANDU: Renowned Nepali sculptor Bal Krishna Tuladhar passed away today at the age of 91.

He was the creative mind behind several iconic public statues in Kathmandu, including the statue of King Tribhuvan at Shahid Gate, as well as those of Shahid Gangalal, Dasharath Chand, Dharma Bhakta, and Shukraraj, along with four prominent portraits at the same site.

Tuladhar’s artistry also includes the six-soldier monument at Tundikhel, the Tribhuvan statue at Banepa Chowk, the half-sized statue of Gyaneshwar Singh at Shobha Bhagwati, and the Trimurti statue featuring Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Lekhnath Paudel, and Bal Krishna Sam, reflecting his significant contribution to Nepali public art.
