President Paudel calls T20 World Cup trophy tour a proud moment for Nepal

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the gradual development of infrastructure, opportunities, and potential in Nepal’s sports sector is a positive sign for the country’s future in sports.
Speaking on Monday at Sheetal Niwas while unveiling the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy, President Paudel described the trophy’s arrival in Nepal as a moment of national pride.
He said the historic occasion sends a strong message to the world that Nepal is steadily moving toward the center of global cricket.
The President noted that Nepal is increasingly establishing itself as a passionate sporting nation and emphasized that cricket has played a vital role in uniting the country and strengthening national identity.
Expressing gratitude to the International Cricket Council (ICC), President Paudel thanked the organization for bringing the World Cup trophy to Nepal, saying it has boosted the enthusiasm and self-confidence of both Nepali cricket and the general public.
He also extended best wishes to the Nepali women’s and men’s national cricket teams for strong performances in the upcoming Women’s World Cup Qualifiers to be hosted in Nepal, as well as in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
