Prachanda to visit Rukum East tonight, file candidacy on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to visit Rukum East this evening ahead of filing his candidacy for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

According to the NCP, all arrangements have been completed to welcome Prachanda.

Party in-charge for Rukum East, Tej Bahadur Oli, said the leader’s schedule has been finalized, including political discussions and consultations with local leaders and party workers.

Prachanda is expected to return to Kathmandu on Wednesday, a day after submitting his nomination.

Previously elected from Gorkha–2 in the 2079 House elections, Prachanda has chosen Rukum East—a historical stronghold of the People’s War—for his current candidacy.
