Pokhara Mayor urges Pun to avoid sidewalk book sales
The mayor suggested that Pun collaborate with the Book Traders’ Association to organize his book-selling activities more effectively.
KATHMANDU: Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has requested newly elected lawmaker Dr. Mahabir Pun to refrain from selling books on sidewalks.
The mayor suggested that Pun collaborate with the Book Traders’ Association to organize his book-selling activities more effectively.
In a social media post, Acharya praised Pun’s efforts to travel across the country, promoting books and gathering public support for innovation and research.
He wrote, “Your work in advancing innovation and research by engaging people through book distribution is commendable. However, selling goods without registration or necessary permits can pose legal complications. Recently, selling books on the streets has caused traffic inconvenience and unnecessary questioning, which is not fitting for a respected personality like yourself.”
Acharya added that if Pun visits Pokhara, the Book Traders’ Association can provide a suitable and convenient location to facilitate legal and organized book sales, ensuring both public convenience and smooth operations.
