Partial cloud cover & rain likely across several regions today

KATHMANDU: Weather conditions across Nepal are expected to remain partly cloudy to generally cloudy in several regions today, with chances of rain and thunderstorms in some areas, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The department said hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will experience generally cloudy conditions during the day, while other mountainous regions are also likely to see cloud cover.

Hilly areas of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to remain partly cloudy, while most Terai regions will see mainly fair weather.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in other hilly and mountainous regions.

There is also a possibility of snowfall in higher elevations.

The department has also forecast hot daytime conditions at some locations in the Terai areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected in the mountainous regions, with partly cloudy skies over the hills and mainly fair weather across the Terai.

A few places in Koshi Province and isolated locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces may witness light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
