KATHMANDU: Marriott International and CG Corp Global have announced a landmark partnership to introduce three new luxury hospitality properties in Nepal and India, further strengthening their presence in South Asia’s rapidly growing tourism market.

The collaboration was unveiled during a special ceremony in Kathmandu on Sunday, where Marriott International Chairman David Marriott formally announced the expansion plans.

Under the agreement, two world-renowned luxury brands — The Ritz-Carlton and The Westin — will be developed in Kathmandu, while a JW Marriott hotel will be established in Siliguri, India.

The addition of these prestigious properties is expected to elevate the region’s luxury hospitality landscape and support tourism growth by offering world-class accommodation and services to international travelers.

Speaking at the event, David Marriott expressed enthusiasm about the company’s expanding relationship with CG Corp Global.

Praising Nepal’s natural beauty and rich tradition of hospitality, he reaffirmed Marriott International’s commitment to supporting the country’s tourism infrastructure and long-term development.

Marriott also highlighted the enduring partnership with CG Corp Global Chair Binod Chaudhary and CG Hospitality Managing Director Rahul Chaudhary, stating that the collaboration would contribute significantly to strengthening the tourism economy.

As Marriott International approaches its 100th anniversary, Marriott noted that such partnerships play a vital role in connecting people, fostering sustainable relationships, and creating lasting value across generations.

Addressing the gathering, Rahul Chaudhary said the agreement reflects Marriott’s strong confidence in Nepal’s tourism and hospitality potential.

He noted that the partnership between the two groups has grown rapidly in recent years, citing the inclusion of the renowned Philippine wellness resort The Farm at San Benito in Marriott’s Autograph Collection portfolio two years ago.

He further revealed that nearly 150 hotels are currently operating under collaboration with Marriott through the Fern brand in India, with plans to expand the portfolio to 500 properties by 2031. Construction of JW Residences Dubai is also progressing as part of the group’s broader international expansion strategy.

The Nepal projects will be developed in partnership with CG Developers, IG Group, ICG Group, Sharma Construction, MLE Group, and MLA Group.

Industry leaders believe the arrival of these globally recognized hospitality brands will support Nepal’s tourism-focused vision and strengthen the country’s position as a premier international travel destination.
