Parliament session set to resume on April 30 postponed
The decision was taken due to “special reasons,” though no further details were disclosed.
KATHMANDU: The government has temporarily postponed the ongoing session of Federal Parliament.
According to the President’s Office, the decision was made following a recommendation from today’s Cabinet meeting. President Ramchandra Paudel approved the postponement, as informed by his press adviser Kiran Pokharel.
Earlier, on the recommendation of the Cabinet meeting held on April 21, the President had summoned a joint session of both houses of Parliament for Thursday, April 30, at 2 PM.
A statement issued by the President’s Office spokesperson Ritesh Kumar Shakya said that the session, earlier called under Article 93(1) of the Constitution, has been postponed for now based on the Cabinet’s April 23 recommendation, citing “special reasons.”
No new date for the parliamentary meeting has been announced.
