Parliament deadlock talks underway

KATHMANDU: Discussions are underway at Singha Durbar to resolve the ongoing obstruction in the Federal Parliament of Nepal, with efforts focused on unblocking the House proceedings.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane is holding talks with leaders of opposition parties in an attempt to find consensus and end the parliamentary deadlock.

The meeting includes Chief Whips and Whips from major political parties. From the Nepali Congress, Chief Whip Bishmaraj Angdembe and Whip Basana Thapa are participating.

From CPN-UML, Chief Whip Ain Mahar is present, while CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Yugraj Dulal is also part of the dialogue.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khusbu Oli is attending the talks as well.

From RSP, Chief Whip Kabindra Burlakoti and Whip Krantishikha Dhital are engaged in the discussions.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 11 AM has been delayed as negotiations continue in search of a consensus to resume parliamentary proceedings.
