KATHMANDU: The Election Commission is set to conduct orientation training on Poush 28 & 29 for Chief Election Officers and Election Officers appointed for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

According to the Commission’s spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the training will be held at four locations—Kathmandu, Chitwan, Biratnagar, and Nepalgunj—covering Election Officers from all seven provinces.

Commission officials and relevant staff have already been assigned specific responsibilities to facilitate the training.

The program aims to prepare master trainers through this instructor training, who will then conduct further training sessions for other officials, according to the Commission’s plan.

Following the training, the Election Officers are scheduled to establish their offices in their respective electoral areas and commence work from Magh 2.

On the recommendation of the Judicial Council, the Commission has appointed 77 district judges as Chief Election Officers and 88 gazetted second-class officials from the Judicial Service as Election Officers.
