NRNA urges Nepalis in Middle East to stay alert amid Iran-Israel tension
The concern has intensified following reports that Iran launched missile attacks targeting a U.S. military base in Qatar.
KATHMANDU: As tensions between Iran and Israel continue to escalate, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) International Coordination Council has issued a strong appeal to the hundreds of thousands of Nepalis in the Middle East to remain highly alert and prioritize their safety.
In a statement released on Monday, the NRNA, led by President Mahesh Shrestha, expressed grave concern over the safety of Nepali nationals residing in countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Iraq.
The concern has intensified following reports that Iran launched missile attacks targeting a U.S. military base in Qatar.
“We are deeply alarmed by the latest developments,” read the statement jointly signed by NRNA President Mahesh Shrestha and General Secretary B.R. Lama. “We earnestly request all Nepalis in the region to strictly follow the guidance issued by local authorities, governments, and the respective Nepali embassies.”

The NRNA acknowledged and appreciated the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their efforts—alongside the Indian government—to facilitate the potential evacuation of Nepalis from high-risk zones in Iran and Israel.
Furthermore, the association has directed all its National Coordination Councils (NCCs) to remain active, ensure accurate information flow, and provide all possible support to Nepali communities in affected areas.
The NRNA ICC assured that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation round-the-clock and is in constant communication with the Nepal government, foreign embassies, and its NCCs to offer every possible assistance.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel have surfaced, though independent verification and detailed updates are still awaited.
