Notorious gang leader Raju Gorkhali arrested

KATHMANDU: Raju Gorkhali (Rajendra Bahadur Gorkhali), known as a notorious gang leader, has been arrested by police.

According to sources from the Kathmandu District Police Office, a special police team apprehended Gorkhali on charges related to banking offenses.

Gorkhali has previously faced allegations of involvement in criminal activities.

Although he had remained relatively low-profile for some time, he has recently come under legal scrutiny once again.

In the 2022 House of Representatives elections, Gorkhali was recommended as a candidate by the Nepali Congress for Sindhupalchowk Constituency-2, though he was later denied the party ticket.

The police have taken him into custody for further investigation.
