Not only President is guilty of Citizenship Bill, but others are also guilty: Independent Party

KATHMANDU: The National Independent Party, led by Rabi Lamichhane, has concluded that the suspension of the citizenship bill is not solely the president’s fault.

Dr. Mukul Dhakal, Spokesperson and General Minister, issued a statement in which he stated that responsibility for the ‘unconstitutional’ situation should be shared not only by the President but also by Parliament and political parties.

“The bill was not in the national interest,” the statement says, “but the kind of haste that was done at the last moment by remaining silent on issues like citizenship for 5 years is suspicious.” “Using the bill as an election agenda in this way is a dirty political exercise,” it adds.
