NOC raises diesel, kerosene prices
While diesel and kerosene prices have been raised, NOC has kept the prices of petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged for now.
KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the retail price of diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 per litre, effective from today, following a decision by its board of directors.
After the price adjustment, diesel and kerosene now cost Rs 136.50 per litre in first-category areas, Rs 138 in second-category areas, and Rs 139 in third-category areas.
According to NOC, Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj depots fall under the first category, Surkhet and Dang under the second category, while Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal have been placed in the third category.
The revised retail prices apply within a 15-kilometre radius of the respective depots.
Meanwhile, the corporation has reduced aviation fuel prices. The price of domestic aviation fuel has been cut by Rs 1 per litre, while international aviation fuel in Kathmandu has been reduced by USD 7 per kilolitre.
With the revision, domestic aviation fuel now costs Rs 127 per litre, and international aviation fuel stands at USD 966 per kilolitre.
NOC clarified that the price adjustment was made in line with the latest fuel purchase rates received from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
Under the new rates, petrol prices increased marginally by Rs 0.12 per litre, diesel and kerosene by Rs 4.66 per litre, and LPG by Rs 45.49 per cylinder, while aviation fuel prices decreased by Rs 1.08 per litre.
