KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML will not invite foreign political parties to its 11th National Convention.
UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali stated that due to the limited time available to hold the convention, friendly and fraternal foreign parties will not be called this year.
“The convention schedule was fixed on short notice. Given the time constraints, we decided not to invite them,” he said, adding that they will still send congratulatory messages during the inaugural session.
Previously, UML had invited around 50 friendly political parties, including those from China, India, and Vietnam, as guests to its convention.
The 11th National Convention is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from Mangsir 27 to 29.
