KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has announced the launch of a card-based online payment gateway in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL).

The new service will enable online merchants to accept payments via VISA and MasterCard issued by any national or international bank, similar to physical merchant transactions.

The online payment gateway aims to promote e-commerce transactions across Nepal. Utilizing 3D Secure technology, it enhances the security of card payments while minimizing the risk of unauthorized transactions.

By supporting both domestic and international payments, the gateway provides merchants with an opportunity to expand their business reach.

Online and e-commerce merchants can integrate the service into their portals after completing the necessary procedures and technical setup with the bank.

This launch adds to NMB Bank’s suite of digital services offered in collaboration with NCHL, which already includes ECC, IPS, RPS, NEPALPAY QR, connectIPS, and CORPORATEPAY.

Currently, NCHL provides services such as domestic and international card transactions, hosting, switching, and online payment gateways to 14 banks and financial institutions in Nepal.

With NMB Bank’s participation, the reach of digital payments in the country is expected to expand further.

NMB Bank operates 202 branches, 184 ATMs, and 9 extension counters across all 77 districts, continuing its commitment to providing excellent service to its customers.
