NEPSE edges higher as turnover reaches Rs 4.53 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a marginal gain on Friday, extending its upward movement amid moderate trading activity.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the benchmark NEPSE index rose by 1.63 points to close at 2,702.11.

The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of large-cap companies, also advanced by 0.31 points to settle at 463.98.

Out of the traded companies, share prices of 116 companies increased, while 140 companies declined.

The share prices of 17 companies remained unchanged during the session.

A total of 10.92 million shares of 353 companies were traded, generating a turnover of approximately Rs 4.53 billion.

In terms of trading volume, Global IME Bank Debenture 2088/87 emerged as the most actively traded security.

It was followed by Global IME Bank Debenture 2084/85, Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company, and United Modi Hydropower among the top five traded securities.

Among the biggest gainers of the day were Apollo Hydropower, Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Support Microfinance, Reliance Finance, and Gurans Laghubitta.

On the losing side, investors in Bungal Hydro, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta, Citizens Bank Debenture, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme, and Salapa Bikas Bank recorded the highest losses.
