NIC Asia Bank condemns disruptive incident at Itahari branch
Such actions not only threaten the safety of bank employees but also create an insecure atmosphere across the entire banking sector.
KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank Ltd. has expressed serious concern over an incident at its Itahari branch, where an individual entered the premises with malicious intent, verbally abused staff, and caused disorder within the branch.
In a statement issued today, the bank emphasized that any illegal or disruptive activities in a bank—a sensitive and essential service environment—are completely unacceptable.
Such actions not only threaten the safety of bank employees but also create an insecure atmosphere across the entire banking sector.
The statement further highlighted that acts such as causing commotion, engaging in violent behavior, or using highly flammable substances like petrol with intent to harm are strictly prohibited by law and can negatively impact the banking sector, which plays a vital role in the country’s economic development.
These incidents also seriously affect the working environment, leaving employees feeling unsafe.
The bank stated that no excuse can justify abusive behavior toward staff.
It has urged the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, take legal action against those responsible, and ensure the safety and security of both the bank and its employees.
