NEPSE surges on first trading day of the week

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant rise on the first trading day of the week, with the benchmark index climbing by 39.92 points to reach 2,600.22.
A total of 334 companies traded 13,381,926 shares across 76,028 transactions, amounting to Rs 1.28 billion in turnover.
All sub-indices recorded gains except for collective investment schemes.
Sagar Distillery Limited, Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Limited, and Jhapa Energy Limited saw their share prices hit the positive circuit today.
On the other hand, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited recorded the largest loss, with its share price dropping 7.56%.
In terms of trading value, NRN Infrastructure led the market with transactions worth Rs 656.09 million, while Peoples Hydropower topped in traded volume with 1,186,078 shares exchanged.
