NEPSE sees slight dip as 324 companies trade Rs 4.48 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) slipped slightly today, with the index falling 0.53 points to close at 2,644.70.

A total of 324 companies traded 10,810,106 shares across 56,900 transactions, amounting to Rs 448.13 million in turnover.

Banking, hotel & tourism, investment, life insurance, and microfinance sectors saw minor declines of 0.58%, 0.62%, 0.04%, 0.57%, and 0.06%, respectively.

Meanwhile, all other sectors posted gains. Development banks rose 0.17%, finance 0.27%, hydropower 0.70%, manufacturing & processing 0.51%, mutual funds 0.25%, non-life insurance 0.26%, and trade 0.75%.

Six companies hit the upper price limit, including Sagar Distillery Ltd, Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd, Jhapa Energy Ltd, Mabilung Energy Ltd, Bunglal Hydro Ltd, and Shreenagar Agritech Industries Ltd. The biggest loser was Green Ventures Ltd, which plunged 9.85%.

Union Hydropower Ltd led in trading volume and value, with 3,134,319 shares exchanging hands, totaling Rs 31.81 million.
