NEPSE sees moderate recovery after six days of decline

KATHMANDU: After six consecutive days of falling trade, Nepal’s stock market witnessed a modest rebound today.
The NEPSE index rose by 7.39 points, closing at 2,614.07.
A total of 331 companies traded 8.74 million shares across 62,665 transactions, with the total turnover reaching Rs 375.5 crore.
Among sectoral indices, banking (-0.12%), microfinance (-0.06%), non-life insurance (-0.17%), and trading (-0.01%) saw slight declines, while all other sectors recorded gains.
Notable increases were observed in development banks (+0.31%), finance (+0.40%), hotels & tourism (+0.88%), hydropower (+0.84%), investment (+0.16%), and life insurance (+0.82%).
The production & processing (+0.53%), mutual funds (+0.37%), and other sectors (+0.34%) also contributed to the market recovery.
Swastik Microfinance and Shrinagar Agritech Industries hit positive circuit limits, while Himstar Energy lost the most, declining by 3.88%.
Based on trading volume and turnover, Nadi Group Power led the market with Rs 31.92 crore worth of 768,065 shares exchanged.
