KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded today with a double-digit gain, reversing the declines seen during the first two trading days of the week.

The NEPSE index rose by 19.70 points, closing at 2,851.09.

A total of 33,939,427 shares of 339 companies changed hands in 137,857 transactions, amounting to Rs 1.11 billion in turnover.

Sectoral performance was largely positive, with mutual funds (-0.09) and other sectors (-0.55) the only ones in the red. Key gainers included banking (+0.76), development banks (+0.90), finance (+1.12), hotels & tourism (+1.00), hydropower (+0.75), and investment groups (+0.56).

Other sectors also advanced, including life insurance (+0.52), production & processing (+1.94), microfinance (+0.51), non-life insurance (+0.76), and trading (+0.74).

Among individual stocks, Reliance Spinning Mills Ltd., Bhujung Hydropower Ltd., Super Khudi Hydropower Ltd., Rizline Energy Ltd., and Hotel Forest Inn Ltd. hit the positive circuit, while Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd. recorded the largest loss, dropping 8.96%.

Ridi Power Company Ltd. led in turnover with NPR 484.84 million, whereas Kumari Bank Ltd. topped in trading volume, with 1,560,061 shares exchanged.
