NEPSE index rises 50 points on strong market activity

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 50.44 points on Monday, following a nearly 40-point gain on Sunday.

Compared to Sunday, the index climbed 1.94 percent, closing at 2,650.66 points.

Among the traded companies, 215 saw their share prices rise, 37 experienced declines, and 6 remained unchanged.

The higher number of companies with increasing share prices contributed to the double-digit gain in the overall NEPSE index.

A total of 79,714 transactions took place during the day, with 14,243,362 shares traded, amounting to Rs 703.54 crore in total turnover.

This represents an increase from Sunday’s turnover of Rs 628.67 crore.

All 13 sub-sector indices recorded gains, boosting the overall performance of the NEPSE index.
