NEPSE index recovers slightly after four-day decline

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a modest gain today after a continuous fall over the previous four trading sessions.
The index rose by 8.78 points to close at 2,712.86 points, according to NEPSE.
A total of 7.734 million shares of 335 companies were traded 62,025 times, generating a turnover of Rs. 3.439 billion.
Among the sub-indices, life insurance rose by 0.10 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.63 percent, mutual funds by 0.44 percent, and others by 0.08 percent.
However, most other groups declined. Development banks fell by 0.04 percent, finance by 0.12 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.05 percent, microfinance by 0.21 percent, and non-life insurance by 0.12 percent, NEPSE reported.
