KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by double digits on Sunday, shedding 12.50 points to close at 2,594.87.

According to NEPSE, a total of 1,127,216 shares of 330 companies were traded through 60,699 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 4.74 billion.

During the session, the banking and mutual fund sub-indices posted marginal gains, while all other sectoral indices ended in the red.

Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited hit the positive circuit, recording the highest gain of the day.

In contrast, City Hotel Limited suffered the steepest loss, with its share price dropping by 6.26 percent.

In terms of both trading volume and turnover, Kumari Bank Limited (Promoter Shares) led the market, with 2,493,866 shares worth Rs 261.85 million changing hands.
