NEPSE ends week on positive note with modest gains

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed higher on the final trading day of the week, showing a moderate improvement in market sentiment.
The NEPSE index rose by 5.82 points, settling at 2,782.18.
A total of 328 companies saw 21.31 million shares traded across 103,225 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 8.82 billion, according to NEPSE data.
Sector-wise, some sub-indices recorded minor declines: Banking (-0.11%), Finance (-0.87%), Life Insurance (-0.19%), Microfinance (-0.29%), Non-life Insurance (-0.33%), and Others (-0.02%), while the remaining sectors showed gains.
Leading the gains were Development Banks (+0.48%), Hotels & Tourism (+0.39%), Hydropower (+0.05%), Investment (+0.15%), Manufacturing & Processing (+1.76%), Mutual Funds (+0.12%), and Trading (+2.53%).
Notable movers included Reliance Spinning Mills Ltd., Rizline Energy Ltd., and Suryakund Hydroelectric Ltd., all of which hit positive circuit limits. In contrast, Bhu-Gol Energy Development Co. Ltd. saw its share price fall by 3.0%, recording the largest loss of the day.
On a turnover basis, SY Panel Nepal Ltd. led with Rs 57.01 million in trades, while Kumari Bank Ltd. topped in trading volume with 1.079 million shares exchanged.
