NEPSE drops 34.63 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 34.63 points, or 1.26 percent, to close at 2,704.08 today.

A total of 341 companies were traded, with 10,074,524 shares changing hands across 68,635 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 4.26 billion.

Except for the microfinance sector, all major sub-indices ended in the red.

Banking fell 0.86%, development banks 2.14%, finance 0.96%, hotels and tourism 1.35%, hydropower 2.23%, and investment 1.36%.

Similarly, life insurance declined 0.49%, manufacturing and processing 2.54%, mutual funds 0.62%, non-life insurance 0.93%, trading 1.38%, and other groups 0.50%.

Microfinance was the only sector to post a slight gain.
