NEPSE closes higher, gains 27.49 points on strong broad-based rally

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted gains on the final trading day of the week, rising by 27.49 points (1.01%) to close at 2,745.65.

The market recorded the exchange of 7.47 million shares through 53,014 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs 3.28 billion.
All major sector indices ended in positive territory. Banking rose 0.67%, development banks 0.95%, finance 1.87%, hotels and tourism 1.48%, hydropower 1.71%, investment 1.10%, life insurance 0.62%, and manufacturing and processing 1.40%.
Likewise, microfinance gained 0.16%, mutual funds 0.55%, non-life insurance 1.52%, and the “others” group advanced 1.13%.
Among individual stocks, Trishuli Hydropower Company Limited surged by 10%, hitting the upper circuit limit to become the top gainer of the day.
On the downside, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited declined the most, falling 6.54%.
The overall market sentiment remained positive as buying pressure dominated across nearly all sectors.
