KATHMANDU: Nepal registered a commanding 81-run victory over Oman in the ICC World Cup League 2 match held at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Vinayak Shukla top-scored with 36, followed by Hamad Mirza (34), Hassnain-ul-Wahab (29), Hassnain Shah (14), and Nadeem Khan (12), but the visitors fell short against disciplined Nepali bowling.

Gulshan Jha delivered a match-winning spell, claiming a five-wicket haul. Deependra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, and Sandeep Lamichhane supported with one wicket each to seal the victory.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, Nepal posted 256 runs in 49.5 overs. Opener Aasif Sheikh starred with a fluent 94-run innings, while Arjun Kumal contributed 48 and Dipendra Singh Airee added 33 runs.

Aarif Sheikh played a late explosive knock of 43 off 24 balls, including three consecutive sixes in the final over, pushing Nepal past the 250-run mark.

For Oman, Nadeem Khan took three wickets, while Shakeel Ahmed and Hassnain Shah picked up two wickets each.
