KATHMANDU: Lieutenant General Joel B. Vowell, Deputy Commander of the US Army’s Pacific Command, met with Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel.
During the meeting held at the Army Headquarters, Jungi Adda today, they discussed matters of bilateral interest.
The Vowell-led team arrived in Nepal on Sunday via India and Bhutan as part of a regular visit as per the pre-determined program.
The team will visit the Birendra Peacekeeping Training Center of the Nepal Army in Panchkhal, Kavre.
It is said that the team will leave for Thailand tomorrow, Tuesday.
It is believed that Lieutenant General Vowell’s visit will strengthen Nepal-US relations and contribute to humanitarian assistance, disaster management and international peacekeeping operations.
