KATHMANDU: Nepal’s leading telecom provider Ncell has reaffirmed its commitment to rise stronger following extensive damage to its infrastructure across the country during the recent Gen Z movement.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the company expressed its resolve: “We will rise again, together with you—Ncell, for Nepal.”
Despite the crisis, Ncell emphasized that its services remained uninterrupted.
The company confirmed significant physical damage to its offices, including the Ncell iCom headquarters in Kathmandu and regional offices in Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, and Pokhara.
The destruction posed serious risks to both infrastructure and employee safety.
“Despite these challenges, Ncell has remained committed to ensuring continuous telecommunications access for the nation and its people,” the statement said. To support customers during the movement, Ncell provided free local voice calls, SMS, and internet services for three days.
Highlighting its 20-year contribution to Nepal’s digital growth and economic development, Ncell welcomed the interim government and the changes brought about by the people-led movement.
The company extended heartfelt congratulations to newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki, stating, “We hope that the youth-led transformation ushers in a new era of peace, prosperity, and unity for Nepal.” Ncell also paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the movement and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The statement concluded with a renewed pledge: “Today, with even greater determination and resilience, we reaffirm our commitment to serving the country and its people.”
