NC urges unity, says leadership won’t cause party split
Mahat also appealed to supporters of the special convention to adopt a flexible approach to preserve party cohesion.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat emphasized the party’s commitment to unity ahead of Tuesday’s central committee meeting.
Speaking to journalists, he said the party’s leadership is engaging in flexible dialogue to prevent division and that internal disagreements will not lead to a split.
Commenting on the ongoing second convention in Kathmandu, Mahat said it does not serve the interests of the party or the country.
“We want the party to remain united. Discussions are ongoing, and the leadership will not cause a split. Division is not in the interest of the party, the Nepali people, or Nepal. That is why we are working with flexibility to maintain unity,” he added.
