Man drowns in Begnas Lake, body recovered from 35ft depth

KATHMANDU: The body of a man who went missing while swimming in Begnas Lake, located in Majhikuna, Pokhara Metropolitan City-31, has been recovered by a team of Armed Police Force (APF) divers from a depth of approximately 35 feet.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Rajesh Shrestha, a resident of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Manakamana, Gorkha.

He had gone missing at around 7:30 PM on Saturday evening (Jestha 25) while swimming in the lake.

Shrestha was in Pokhara for a visit and was staying at the Lakewave Hotel.

A rescue team from APF Nepal No. 24 Kalika Battalion, Kaski, led by an APF Inspector, located and recovered his body at around 10 AM on Monday morning.
