KATHMANDU: Lions Club Kathmandu Thali has provided essential traffic management equipment to the Valley Traffic Police.

The handover ceremony was held on Monday at the police office in the presence of Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Ishwar Raj Poudel.

Representing the club, Rupak Simkhada said the donation, including magic lights, aims to help manage the increasing traffic congestion.

He also reaffirmed the club’s commitment to supporting law enforcement based on societal needs in the future.

Chief District Officer Poudel expressed gratitude to the club for their assistance, noting that the support comes at a crucial time following the recent Gen Z movement, which had posed significant challenges for traffic management. “Your contribution has greatly aided the Traffic Police. After the movement, both police presence and traffic management were weak, but now the situation is improving, and the police are stronger than before,” he stated.

Poudel emphasized that the equipment will help the Traffic Police regain strength and ensure smoother traffic operations in the valley.
