Koiri filed a petition in Parliament demanding the suspension be lifted
Koiri, who was elected from Mahottari-1, is currently suspended since he is on the run following his arrest for the murder of SP Thaman BK.
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri has submitted an application to the Federal Parliament Secretariat demanding the release of her suspension.
Koiri, who was elected from Mahottari-1, is currently suspended since he is on the run following his arrest for the murder of SP Thaman BK of the Armed Police Force during the Madhesh uprising.
On Mangsir 28 (Dec 14), after being acquitted in the Thaman BK murder case by the Mahottari District Court, MP Koiri wrote a letter to the Federal Parliament Secretariat requesting the release of his suspension and the service facilities he has gotten thus far.
Acting General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Padam Prasad Pandey confirmed the receipt of MP Koiri’s letter. “The letter has been received, it is in the process of decision”, he said.
