Khadka not to contest, backs party campaign
Khadka, the outgoing acting chairman, had been recommended as the candidate from Surkhet-1.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Purna Bahadur Khadka has decided not to contest the House of Representatives election scheduled for 21st Falgun.
The decision comes amid recent developments within the party.
Khadka, the outgoing acting chairman, had been recommended as the candidate from Surkhet-1.
A close source confirmed that Khadka will not file his nomination for the election.
“While Purna won’t contest, he will actively campaign across the country to secure victory for the party,” said a close party leader.
Regardless of the outcome of the case Khadka has filed in the Supreme Court, he is reportedly preparing with his allies to maintain party unity. “If the court rules in favor of Gagan Ji, he will bring everyone together to keep the party united; if it favors the establishment, he will still coordinate with Gagan Ji’s supporters to maintain cohesion,” the leader added.
